In the mountains of Vermont, working in her solar-powered studio surrounded by a lifelong collection of colorful vintage fabrics, lace, beads, buttons and trim, designer Tara Lynn works by hand and on vintage sewing machines to create one-of-a-kind wedding gowns from natural, organic and re-purposed fibers—gowns that are shipped throughout the U.S. and around the world.
Tara Lynn’s gowns are inspired by her love of nature and her research in flora and fauna; but every gown is unique and has its own story.
Tara Lynn’s creativity surfaced early, in the clothes she designed as a child. While still in high school, she enrolled in fashion classes and worked for a number of New York City designers.
After high school, Tara Lynn earned a BA at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, where she became increasingly concerned about the “dark side” of fashion—sweat shops, toxic chemicals and harmful, heavy metals in dyes.
This experience inspired Tara Lynn to launch her own clothing company, creating original wedding gowns from natural fibers including organic cotton, linen, hemp blends and organic silks.
