Heather ordered a custom hemp wedding dress from Tara Lynn Bridal with seashell train and butterfly appliques.

Heather started with Maya, the moon goddess dress, from the Goddess Collection. Her gown was made of hemp/cotton muslin and embellished with machine sewn butterfly appliqués entwined with hand embroidered vines. The train is adorned with wooden beads and seashells threaded into twine macramé. Tara Lynn also made a matching ring bearers pillow.

Heather was married outdoors at Raccoon River Park in West Des Moines, IA, just off of the Raccoon River. The day was perfect right down to the clouds in the sky. She was so relaxed… even being a 1/2 hour late to her wedding! The groom’s side wore flip flops, linen island shirts and pants. The bride’s side went barefoot. Heather wore some pretty foot/ankle jewelry. The train of sea shells hung on the wall in their room after the wedding. 8-16-08 is still one of her happiest memories. “I loved every moment of that day and night!” Their close friends are in a blue grass band that has been a local success for years and they played for the wedding. “We danced till they told us to leave then took our party to the Hotel in downtown Des Moines overlooking our city sky line.”
